Is Bernie getting money for the Rich or the Poor?

Was reading an article on Vermont Digger that was quite interesting. Bernie has gotten $3,000.000 dollars for affordable housing, grant money. So that is the proverbial “Free Money” everyone likes to discuss. The article is below:

Sanders announces $3 million in housing grants for Vermont

War or Love, What do men want? Part 1 of____

In a recent article reported on Vermont Digger, the discussion of wages between men and women was brought up.  Everyone was chiming in; Governor Scott was quoted as saying, “Eliminating the income disparity between men and women would reduce poverty in the state by 53 percent”.
Mitzi Johnson was chiming in, on Vermont Digger  “I can’t wait for the day we stop counting,” Johnson said of her distinction, along with State Treasurer Beth Pearce, of being only the third woman to fill her position.
And Cary Brown also chimed in with Vermont Digger. Cary Brown, the executive director of the Vermont Commission on Women, an advocacy group for gender parity explained that “if women’s wages were raised up to where men’s are, that would be about $5,565 extra dollars for every woman in Vermont, about a billion dollars in total to Vermont’s economy, which is around 3.3% of the state’s GDP.”
Many men were chiming in on the comment section; this reporter was prolific. While I can’t speak for others, I don’t think people were saying sexual discrimination didn’t happen in the past, surely it did. We are sincerely questioning the declaration that sexual discrimination is still occurring. We believe women are being paid for doing the same work as men.
Many men, my self-included want to stop the war on women, we want equal pay for women we do not want sexual discrimination. We want those who are sexually discriminating against women to be charged and fined as they should be. We want our wives and daughters to have the same opportunities as men.
We want to know the truth. We don’t want propaganda; we don’t want lies. With this, we’ll be doing further investigations. We want and need reader input. Should you know of sexual discrimination, please report it, tell us about it. If you have any insights, pass them on.
Do men and women want peace or war? We ask our readers, and we’ll be probing this topic that is continually coming up on Vermont News.

AT&T Phone Billing issues or scam to get extra $5 from customers

7995721594_ecf4f23745_z[1]We are trying to find out how many people are having issues with AT&T billing policies. We’ve fount they move the due date without telling you. Are you always seemingly billed for $5.00 late fees, please let us know. Check your bill and call the company, see when they generate the bill, then when do they mail it. We are finding that you only have 2-3 day to pay a bill other wise it’s late. They certainly don’t give you 30 days. Let us know your experience, if enough people are having problems we’ll submit our finding to the attorney general for investigation.

Waitsfield Vermont Signage

Has anyone noticed all of the regulatory signs existing in Waitsfield? Don’t park here, don’t park there…

We had some stars this winter all around town and it looked like we had life. However, this guy isn’t allowed to put lights around his skier; he actually had to take them down.

We’d like to hear from the business community. What is your experience getting signage in Waitsfield? Is the town business friendly?

Act 250 Overreach?

In the past an 800′ road would trigger Vermont ACT 250, no more, but the regulations are still troublesome for land owners.

Tom Buczkowski notes that he has to pay $90 per year and have an engineer inspect his property because of a long extinct regulation on the Vermont ACT 250 books. He is limited to cutting of trees, the timing of the cutting and other activities. His neighbor isn’t. He has to pay engineering fees on a regular basis.

Local Businessman frustrated over Waitsfield Zoning

Local businessman, Neil Johnson, has repeatedly brought up a zoning issue to the Select board and Zoning board of Waitsfield, Vermont. In meetings with Selectman, he noted that in his search he found that zoning in the Industrial Park only allowed agriculture by right. There was no other business use by right. Thinking this must be an oversight Neil has approached both organizations on multiple occasions.
